Dental marketing campaigns in Wigan may wish to include information from a new report which stated dentists in the town are among the best in the north-west of England.
According to the GP Patient Survey Dental results, which have been released by the Department of Health, 97 per cent of NHS patients who attempted to get an appointment between January and March were able to do so, which is above the national average.
Jackie Forshaw, NHS associate director, explained the statistics show the increase in access to NHS dentistry in the town over the course of the last few years, reports Wigan Today.
“This reflects the commitment and hard work of local dentists to accommodate new patients and the additional investment by NHS Ashton, Leigh and Wigan,” she said, adding dental contracts are also being monitored more closely.
New research by the King’s Fund recently noted patients are increasingly satisfied with the standard of dental care they are receiving from their oral health practitioner.
