Teeth ‘must be in optimum condition’ before cosmetic work

Teeth and gums have to be in “optimum” condition before cosmetic dentistry treatments can take place, according to dentist Genevieve Keane from the Start Smiling clinic in Brentwood.
Speaking to the Sun, she revealed patients ought to have their teeth cleaned, scaled and polished every three months by a professional.
Dr Keane explained that if they do not do this, any cosmetic work they have done is not going to last for very long.
“If you have, say, veneers, instead of lasting from 15 to 20 years they will only last for five if you have a receding gum line,” she was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
Her practice looks after the teeth of many of the stars of the popular reality television show The Only Way Is Essex and newcomer Georgina Dorsett’s teeth were singled out for particular praise.
One star who makes sure she keeps her teeth in great condition is singer Katy Perry, after an insider told the Daily Star she brushes them six times a day.
