The General Dental Council (GDC) has announced that it is looking to appoint 65 new Fitness to Practise panel members to act in a public protection role.
Advertisements outlining the formal application process are set to be published in the national and dental trade press from next month and the GDC revealed applications from dentists, dental care professionals (DCPs) and lay people are being collected.
The GDC announced that it is looking for 15 dentists, 25 DCPs and 25 lay members to fill the positions.
“This is a great learning and development opportunity for both lay people and dental professionals who are interested in the proportionate and fair regulation of the dental profession,” said the GDC in a statement.
It was recently revealed that the GDC is asking for dental professionals to get in touch with their thoughts on proposals to reform mandatory Continuing Professional Development requirements.
