The General Dental Council (GDC) has announced that it is looking for two members to come forward and join its Appointments Committee.
It was revealed by the body that it is seeking one registrant and one lay person to fill the vacancies on the committee, with a deadline for applications set on November 30th.
“Successful applicants will be responsible for appointing individuals who deal with complaints against dental professionals as part of the GDC’s statutory Fitness to Practise process,” it was noted by the GDC.
It added those who are successful in getting on to the Appointments Committee are also going to be charged with developing new systems for induction, training and performance management of those appointed.
The GDC is also seeking external examiners for its overseas registration exam, which tests the clinical skills and knowledge of overseas dentists.
Members of the GDC were recently reminded by the body that the end of a five-year Continuing Professional Development is coming in the next few months.
