Fresh content can improve your Google ranking

Whether it’s to do with the content that you produce online, in posters, or regarding a logo rebrand – you can’t deny that whenever you post a new version of something, people take notice.

To borrow a phrase used by a character from a popular American sitcom: “New is always better.” At least this is the case as far as Google and its search engine ranking system is concerned.

When you create a new website, or a new webpage/article/document to that website, you instantly begin to improve the searchability of your site and your products and services.

However, over time the lustre starts to fade on the information that you have, by which we mean that it becomes harder for people to be able to find information on your stellar dental services. This is because search engines, like Google, value things that are new because their users are looking for the most up to date and relevant information they can find.

Moz.com has said that there are Freshness Factors that can contribute to getting your marketing message more visible online. Basically, you update content that you’ve already produced – it’s so easy!

Things that can quickly and easily become stagnant on your webpage are content like ebooks or online pamphlets. These are essentially static content – in the sense that they don’t change regularly the way blogs and news items do – but you need to make sure that you regularly update them to prevent them from going stale. Not only is this a good idea for your Google ranking, it’s also important to make sure everything you have on there is relevant.

Queries and questions from your target audience have to be answered with fresh content, otherwise you’re going to have some unhappy customers.

One of the quickest ways to make sure that you are making your products and services visible online is to make big changes to your content. Instead of changing a couple of sentences, change the link to the page that your poster or ebook is on. This is automatically picked up by Google and other search engines as completely new content.

By looking to change visual and editorial content often, you’re going to ensure that your information is up to date, but you’ll also increase the visibility of your products and services to your audience.
