A dentist from Halstead has joined a national campaign designed to improve standards of patient safety in the cosmetic industry.
The local Gazette reports that Dr Neil Chappell has signed up to the Department of Health’s (DoH’s) Treatments You Can Trust initiative.
In order to show his support for the scheme, the professional may want to place dental posters in his practice.
Dr Chappell expressed his delight at being recognised under the campaign as providing high standards of care and helping to eradicate cowboy practitioners.
“The register is there to protect people and the Quality Assurance Mark gives added peace of mind to my clients. It’s great to have this extra seal of approval,” the dentist remarked.
A poll by the DoH formed the basis of the initiative after three out of four people in the south of England expressed concern over treatments by unqualified providers.
The campaign focuses on injectable cosmetic treatments, which are increasingly offered at many dental practices across the UK.
