A dentist confirmed as one of the healthcare professionals to be treating athletes at the Olympic Games this summer has stated he is looking forward to the challenge it is going to present.
Ian Speechley, who has worked at the Riverside Practice in Bourton since 1991, explained it will be a lot different from his daily job, reports the Cotswold Journal.
He told the news provider that he will be based at the Excel Centre for nine days during the Olympic Games, with events taking place at the arena including the boxing, taekwondo, judo and wrestling events.
“I’m really looking forward to the challenge of dealing with the unexpected. It feels great to be part of a team that will be delivering this service,” said the dentist, who noted he has a lifelong passion for sport so is particularly excited to be close to the Olympians this summer.
Recent research by the British Dental Health Foundation found British middle-distance runner Mo Farah has the most attractive smile of the Team GB athletes.
