Dental professionals gathered at a recent conference have given positive feedback regarding the introduction of NHS pilots 12 months ago.
According to a report by Dentistry.co.uk, the Westminster Health Forum Keynote Seminar – which was put on to discuss Dentistry 2012 – quality, access and regulation – was attended by industry experts such as John Milne, chair of the British Dental Association’s General Dental Practice Committee.
“The growing consensus is that the contract should produce better outcomes for patients,” Mr Milne told those gathered at the event, adding allowances need to be made for the inevitability of advanced care.
Justin Ash, chief executive of dental corporate Oasis Dental Care and Eddie Coyle, noted oral health is improving in the UK.
Research recently conducted by Oasis Dental Care found 70 per cent of people with bad teeth say it has a negative impact on their lives, with 39 per cent stating they try to avoid smiling.
