An open day has been helped young people to get rid of their fear of the dentist.
Oasis Dental Care in Lincolnshire hosted the event in a bid to reduce dental fear in the area and provide a boost to the oral hygiene levels of kids in the region.
Speaking to the East Coast Target, Oasis practice manager Stacey Prince stated the open day went well, adding: “A major thing we see is that children are very scared of coming to the dentist and we see it a lot more now with children because it rubs off from the parents.”
She explained the idea behind the open day was to show that it does not have to be scary to go to the dentist for a check-up and it can even be fun.
Dental health advisor at the British Dental Health Foundation Karen Coates recently stressed the importance of young people who play sports wearing mouthguards to protect their teeth.
