4 things every blog post needs

Blogs are an excellent way to market a dental surgery. A well-written post provides customers with useful information, brings visitors to your website, makes your brand seem friendly and accessible, and helps to start conversations on social media.

However, if you’re new to the world of blogging, it’s understandable if the idea of publishing content online can feel a bit overwhelming – and many dental marketing teams just don’t know where to start.

The good news is that with a few basic elements, you can create an engaging article for your website. Here are four things you should definitely include to ensure your dental surgery is on its way to having a successful blog:

1. An interesting topic

Blog posts don’t need to be full of life-changing information to make them popular, but they do need to offer content that your readers find useful or interesting. For example, you could use the blog to provide advice on dental hygiene or what to expect after a root canal.

2. A strong headline

If you want your post to be read and shared, then a good title is essential. Remember that the headline doesn’t just sit at the top of your article – it’s also what’s going to be included in snippets on social media and in search results, so take some time to make it great. It should grab a reader’s attention and make people want to click on the link. Short and snappy can be good, but longer and more descriptive may also work. In any case, the headline should be a true representation of what the article is actually about.

3. Well-written copy

Once you’ve finished writing the article, set it aside for a couple of hours, or even a day. Then go back and re-read it to make sure it’s error-free and conveys the right message. It’s also a good idea to have somebody else (or several other people) read it to help you spot mistakes or point out parts that might need clarification.

4. A call to action

Blogs can be a great way to get people to your website – but what do you want them to do once they’ve finished reading the post? By providing a clear call to action, you’ll be more likely to convert visitors to clients. For example, you could invite people to contact the surgery, sign up for your newsletter or fill out a form to request more information.
